The Buffalo Medical Group’s Radiation Medicine Department offers patients a comprehensive and team approach including on-site medical oncology, radiation oncology, and social work support. Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI)
physicians who are board-certified in radiation medicine, provide dedicated
clinical services including consultation, CT scan-based virtual simulation,
conventional simulation, three dimensional conformal radiation treatment,
and electron radiation treatment. In addition, patients may also participate
in national clinical trials if they desire.
The Radiation Medicine Department recently received a full three-year
accrediation by the American College of Radiation Oncology.
The BMG’s unique relationship with Roswell Park provides patients with the option to access services available at RPCI including, intensity modulated radiation treatment, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, high dose rate brachytherapy, low dose rate brachytherapy, seed implant for prostate cancer, superficial x-ray orthovoltage radiation treatment and total body irradiation in bone marrow transplant programs.
Located at 295 Essjay Road in Williamsville, the BMG Radiation Medicine
Department is open from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. In most cases, patients are referred by their medical oncologists.
