Dr. George G. Barrios has been a member of the Buffalo Medical
Group, PC, since 1986, and also is a clinical assistant professor of
surgery at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine and
Biomedical Sciences.
He is board certified by the American
Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Barrios is a Fellow in the
American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and
Rectal Surgeons. He also is a member of the Erie County Medical
Society and New York State Medical Society.
Dr. Barrios earned his medical degree magna cum laude at the
University of the Philippines, and completed his specialty training
in general surgery at Philippine Hospital in Manila, and also at the
University at Buffalo and UB-affiliated hospitals. He also was
awarded a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery, and received his
training at Buffalo General Hospital.
He is a past president of the Medical/Dental Staff at Buffalo
General, and is a member of the G.I Lab Committee there.
Dr. Barrios has authored or co-authored articles and abstracts for
medical journals and publications in the United States and the
Philippines. He also has done presentations on his research at
national and international conferences.
In addition to Buffalo General, Dr. Barrios is affiliated with Mercy
and Kenmore Mercy hospitals.
