Dr. Kenneth H. Eckhert Jr., joined the Buffalo Medical Group, PC, in 2005, and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He also is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners.

A Buffalo native, Dr. Eckhert earned his medical degree at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and completed his specialty training at the former Deaconess Hospital of Buffalo.

Dr. Eckhert is a former medical director at the Sisters of Charity Hospital Breast Care Center, and also served as chief of surgery at Sisters Hospital for many years, where he was president of the Medical Staff from 1996-97.

He is a member of the Medical Society of Erie County and its Ethics Committee, and is a former president of the organization. Dr. Eckhert is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Mastology Association, American Medical Association, and the American College of Physician Executives. He also is a member of the Buffalo Surgical Society, serving as president from 1996-97, and also is a member of the New York State Medical Society.

Dr. Eckhert has lectured extensively on topics related to breast care and breast cancer and disease, and has authored or co-authored articles and abstracts for surgical oncology publications.

He has traveled to Limbae, Haiti on numerous occasions to serve as a volunteer surgeon at Mission Hospital.

Dr. Eckhert is an assistant clinical professor of surgery at UB, and is affiliated with Kaleida Health and Catholic Health System hospitals.
