An allergist specializing in the management of allergic rhinitis,
asthma, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, sinus infection, and
immunotherapy, Dr. Aries Liu-Helm is board certified by the American Board of
Allergy and Immunology.
She welcomes patients of all ages and is among only a few physicians
in Western New York who perform directed patch testing to pinpoint
the cause of skin allergies. By using this type of test, Dr.
Liu-Helm often is able to identify allergies caused by specific
ingredients in cosmetics, topical lotions, medications, plants, or
other environmental agents.
Dr. Liu-Helm earned her medical degree at Albany Medical College and
completed an Internal Medicine residency and Allergy and Immunology
Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
An assistant clinical professor of Internal Medicine at the
University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences,
she joined the BMG Department of Allergy and Immunology in 2000.
Dr. Liu-Helm is a member of the Buffalo Allergy Society, the
American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology, and the American
Contact Dermatitis Society. In addition, she also has published her
research on autoimmune blistering diseases and delayed
hypersensitivity skin tests.
Dr. Liu-Helm and her highly trained and skilled staff, provide
evaluation and treatment of allergic disorders for infants,
children and adults. Her patient-centered approach to care
focuses on health and wellness for long-term management of allergic
