Dr. Joseph P. Leberer has been a member of the
Buffalo Medical Group, PC, since 1998, and is Medical Director of
the Amherst-General GI/Urology Outpatient Endoscopy Suite. He is
board certified by the American Board of General Surgery and the
American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
After earning his medical degree at the University at Buffalo (UB)
School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Leberer completed
his general surgery specialty training at UB and hospitals
affiliated with the university. In addition, he also completed a
residency in colon and rectal surgery at Buffalo General Hospital.
A clinical assistant professor at UB, Dr. Leberer is a Fellow of the
American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is a member of the
Erie County and New York State Medical societies, and the Niagara
Frontier Association of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, for which he has
served as secretary and treasurer.
Dr. Leberer is a member of the Buffalo Medical Group Board of
Directors, and chairs the Group’s Finance Committee. He also is a
member of the Independent Health Advisory Board and the Kenmore
Mercy Hospital Infection Control Committee.
In addition to Kenmore Mercy, he also is affiliated with Buffalo
General, Sisters of Charity and Mercy hospitals.
