A member of the Buffalo Medical Group, PC, since 1993, Dr. David A. O’Keeffe is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He also has been awarded a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine by the Boards of Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine.

Dr. O’Keeffe earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and completed his family medicine specialty training at UB-affiliated hospitals. He also received his sports medicine specialty training under a fellowship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice. Currently, he is affiliated with Buffalo General Hospital. In addition to his BMG practice, he is a clinical assistant professor of Medicine at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Well-known in Western New York and nationally for his running prowess, Dr. O’Keeffe was a member of the 1988 World Cross Country Team, and he represented the United States in the 1993 World Cup Marathon Championships. He also was the 1999 USA National Champion in the Masters Marathon Championship, and was a member of the 2003 Masters National Champion Cross Country Team.
