Dr. Donald F. Switzer has been a cardiologist and electrophysiologist with the Buffalo Medical Group, PC, since 1999. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
A Buffalo, NY native, Dr. Switzer earned his medical degree at the University at Buffalo (UB) School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and completed his specialty training at UB-affiliated hospitals. He was awarded a Cardiology fellowship and trained at UB and Erie County Medical Center. Dr. Switzer also received a fellowship in Cardiology/Electrophysiology, and completed his training at University of Alabama at Birmingham and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Switzer is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology, and is a member of the Erie County Medical Society, New York State Society of Internal Medicine, North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology, the Western New York Cardiovascular Society, the American Heart Association and the American Society of Internal Medicine.
He has authored or co-authored articles about his research in nearly 20 medical and cardiovascular disease journals and publications.
Dr. Switzer is affiliated with many hospitals in Western New York including Buffalo General, Millard Fillmore Gates and Suburban, Women and Children’s, DeGraff Memorial, Sisters of Charity, Mercy, Kenmore Mercy, St. Joseph’s, Lakeshore, Erie County Medical Center and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
