Johnny Yap, MD

Board certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of
Radiology, Dr. Johnny Yap has served as director of the Buffalo
Medical Group’s Department of Radiation Medicine since 2005.
In addition to his BMG practice, Dr. Yap is a faculty staff physician at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Previously, he was an attending radiation oncologist at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA, and prior to that was a clinical professor with Texas Tech Medical Center while in private practice.
He earned his doctor of medicine at The Chicago Medical School in Illinois, and completed his radiation medicine residency at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, after an internship at Yale University, New Haven, CT.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiology and the American Brachytherapy Society.
Dr. Yap is active in clinical
research activities while providing radiation oncology care at
Buffalo Medical Group. His clinical interests are cancers of the
breast, prostate, lung, and gynecologic malignancies and intestinal
malignancies.
