To make an appointment with the Buffalo
Medical Group, please call 630-1000
during regular office hours, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm,
Monday through Friday, and your call will be
directed to the appropriate office. Each of
our physicians also has a direct phone line for
easy access to their individual offices.
The physician’s medical assistant has been
instructed to ask why you need to see the doctor.
Your response will enable the medical
assistant to schedule the appropriate
length of time for your appointment.
For your convenience, the BMG has
a new automated telephone system
which contacts you two business
days prior to your scheduled
appointment as a reminder.
If it is necessary to cancel an appointment, please notify your doctor’s office as soon as
possible. This courtesy will provide us with an opportunity to care for another patient in your
place. A medical assistant will be pleased to arrange another appointment for you.
On your first visit to the Buffalo Medical Group, please arrive at least 15 minutes before your
scheduled appointment so that you have time to register with the receptionist. The receptionist
will ask you to complete a registration form in order to establish your medical record and
obtain your current insurance information. We ask that you bring your current insurance
card(s) with you to this visit and all subsequent visits, as well as your co-payment, if applicable.
On future visits, please check in at the reception desk, so your information can be reviewed for
accuracy. You can help us serve you better by notifying the receptionist or doctor’s office of
any changes in name, address, telephone number or insurance coverage since the time of your
last visit. Verifying this information at each visit will ensure that you receive the most
appropriate medical care, and also ensure that the services you received are covered by your
insurance company.
Doctors at the Buffalo Medical Group try to follow their scheduled appointments as closely as
possible. However, due to unavoidable circumstances or emergencies, a doctor may have to
spend additional time with a patient who may have had an appointment prior to yours. This
may result in a delay in seeing your doctor. We appreciate your patience and understanding in
such circumstances.
Buffalo Medical Group patients are ultimately responsible for the payment of their medical
bills. Our Central Business Office staff will be glad to work with you regarding your medical
bill.
Some insurance companies pay the total amount of the bill, while others pay less. Some
insurance companies also require deductibles or pay percentages. You are responsible for the
deductible, payment of the bill, or the balance of the bill after the insurance company has
made payment.
If your insurance requires a co-payment, the co-payment is due at the time of your visit. If
your insurance requires pre-authorization for certain procedures or hospital admissions, you
should inform your physician’s office. This will enable you to secure the necessary
pre-authorization and avoid possible delays in receiving the care you require.
If you have tests performed by the Buffalo Medical Group, the office may call you, or request
you to call the office at a specified time to obtain
the results. Your results may be given to you by the
doctor or the doctor’s medical assistant.
