The Buffalo Medical Group Clinical Laboratory plays an active and key role in assisting BMG physicians diagnose medical problems and with the overall health care of their patients. The satellite laboratories and phlebotomy services located in each of the Buffalo Medical Group’s larger medical buildings supplement the main full service laboratory on Sheridan Drive in Williamsville.

The highly skilled and experienced laboratory staff provides, in most cases, less than 24-hour turnaround time for laboratory results. When necessary, the laboratory staff is able to provide “STAT” test results, and results with critical or special importance are communicated directly to the physician. This one-on-one contact with BMG physicians enables the laboratory to run additional tests or re-run tests of previously received samples, if requested. The extensive range of BMG laboratory services is a reflection of the laboratory staff’s focus on ensuring physician satisfaction as well as enhancing patient care and convenience.

Phlebotomy services are available at 85 High Street (2nd floor), Buffalo, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm; 3345 Southwestern Boulevard, Orchard Park,Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm; 295 Essjay Road, Williamsville, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am to 8 pm, and Saturday, 8 am to noon; and 2741 Transit Road, Elma, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Friday, 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

The BMG takes pride in the fact that with the aid of high-speed state-of-the-art equipment, 1.5 million tests are performed each year and are available for physicians review via an online laboratory information system. This high-tech online feature provides the clinician with immediate access to laboratory test results. This is particularly beneficial to clinicians and patients because it not only reduces turn-around-time, but leads to quicker diagnosis and faster treatment of illnesses.

In addition, automatic trending analysis is available to clinicians for patients who have laboratory testing performed through the BMG laboratory on a regular basis. This is an important tool for diagnosis and treatment of
diabetes, prostate cancer and other types of illnesses.
