Physical Therapy is the practice of evaluating, treating, and
preventing most conditions of health. Prevention is key in the Buffalo
Medical Group Physical Therapy Department’s scope of practice.
The department has a highly skilled, dedicated and compassionate staff that
listens to the concerns of patients regarding their health, responds to
their questions, and ensures they are comfortable during their
rehabilitation.
Department therapists focus on educating the patient about his or her
current condition and how to prevent further episodes. The department also
is attuned to musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and generalized
de-conditioned states. A prescription from a physician is required to
receive physical therapy treatment. Physical therapy assistants and aides
assist the therapists in providing treatments.
The Physical Therapy Department, located at 425 Essjay Road, Suite 170,
Williamsville, offers early morning and evening hours to
accommodate patients’ work schedules. Therapists are available Monday
and Wednesday from 7 am to 5 pm; Tuesday and Thrusday from 9:30 am to 7:30
pm, and Friday from 7 am to 4 pm. Patients should use the entrance that is
adjacent to the rear parking lot.
A personalized treatment plan will be established at the
initial evaluation to address specific needs.
Patients will be educated on various forms of therapeutic
exercise and will be encouraged to continue with exercise after they have
been discharged from active physical therapy treatment.
