Celebrating 20 Years with Epic Health

A decade before the Obama administration and Congress set aside $27 billion in federal subsidies to incentivize hospitals, physician groups, and other providers to adopt electronic health record (EHR) systems, Buffalo Medical Group made an early investment in its health information technology, and became the first local physician group to adopt the Epic EHR system back in October 1999. Buffalo Medical Group Department of Radiation Oncology Earns ACR Accreditation

Buffalo Medical Group Radiation Oncology has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in radiation oncology as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Radiation oncology, or radiation therapy, is the careful use of high-energy radiation to treat cancer. A radiation oncologist may use radiation to cure cancer or to relieve a cancer patient’s pain.

BMG Recognized as the only Patient-Centered Oncology Medical Home in NYS

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has recognized Buffalo Medical Group (BMG) as a Patient-Centered Oncology Medical Home (PCMH-O). BMG is the only health care provider in New York State to earn this recognition. BMG was recognized for its Orchard Park, Williamsville, and Buffalo locations, accounting for three of only 16 practices to receive this distinction throughout the U.S.

Share your medical records with any provider, anywhere

Share Everywhere, powered by Epic, is a new way for you to share your medical information with the people who are taking care of you. Using your MyChart or MyChart mobile account, you can generate a share code and provide it to the person you want to share your health data with. This might be a doctor, chiropractor, physical therapist, dentist, or school nurse, for example. The share code recipient enters that code and your date of birth on the Share Everywhere website to receive one-time, temporary access to your health information. The person who views your information can also write a note back to your health system to help keep your care team informed of the care they provided.
